02 Oct Southend Airport boosts connectivity to central London with bus deal
London Southend Airport is now even easier to access, thanks to a new agreement with the Ensign Bus Company.
From 5th October, an agreement between London Southend Airport and Ensign Bus will see a daily bus service from London Victoria to the Stobart Group-owned and operated airport, arriving at 04:30 and departing at 23:40 from London Southend Airport to London Victoria, where customers can quickly and easily transfer to the London Underground and rail services to the south of England.
London Victoria is the second busiest London travel terminus, with more than 85 million passengers using the facilities each year. Popular tourist attractions, including Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Cathedral and Hyde Park, are nearby.
The agreement builds on news earlier this year that London-based passengers are benefiting from new early arrival and late departure trains operated by Greater Anglia trains from London Liverpool Street station to London Southend Airport station, and up to six services an hour.
Glyn Jones, CEO of Stobart Aviation, said: “We were already one of London’s best-connected airports and this exciting deal with the Ensign Bus Company makes accessing London Southend Airport even easier.
“We have found that more and more people are using London Southend Airport and its rapidly expanding network of over 40 routes. And there is a reason why Which? rates us the best London airport. For those who have not yet experienced our award-winning airport, I invite you to visit us via our exceptional rail and bus links.”
