Grime legend Riko Dan walked in and laid down his verse in one take… it was a crazy day and we can’t wait to drop this heater!”
In recent accolades, Rudimental received a BRIT Award nomination for “Best Song” for their hit track “Dancing Is Healing,” featuring Charlotte Plank and Vibe Chemistry. This marks their historic eighth nomination, showcasing the enduring impact of their music. The song, peaked at #5 in the OCC singles chart and spent an impressive 23 weeks in the Top 100 (including five weeks in the Top 10), stands as Rudimental’s highest-charting single since 2018.
Fresh off a successful tour of Australia and New Zealand, where they headlined the AO Finals Festival in Melbourne and hosted a Yacht Rave in Sydney Harbour in partnership with Lab54, Rudimental continues to push boundaries and deliver memorable musical experiences around the globe.
Rudimental (aka. Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden and Leon “Locksmith” Rolle) are no strangers to global recognition and success. Having been hailed as one of dance music’s most successful acts over the last decade they returned last year refreshed and renewed with new material that evokes the original drum’n’bass sound they pioneered and listeners first fell in love with.
As one of the UK’s most successful dance acts of the last decade Rudimental have set the bar high…. 2 x #1 albums, 3 x #1 singles, multiple chart entries, 25M singles + 3M albums worldwide, over 5B+ streams., 4 x albums, multiple world tours, headlined countless festivals and are both BRIT award winners and Mercury Prize nominees. All this has cemented their position as trailblazers with a formidable reputation for producing hit records. It’s been 10 years since the band first broke through and, after taking a step back recently, they’re ushering in a fresh phase with renewed vigour and focus. Now signed to RoomTwo (a sub-division of Columbia Records), Rudimental have tapped into the original energy that launched them into the limelight back in 2012 and are ready to let loose once again.
Rudimental initially wet fans appetites with the single “Break My Heat” in late 2022, then swiftly solidified their return in the spring with the single “Dancing Is Healing” which hit #5 on the UK singles chart, spent weeks in the Top10 and has had 85M streams globally. The band then teamed up with Venbee on “Die Young”, solidifying the band’s DNA of working with and nurturing new talent. This set them up to dominate the summer with their D&B anthems. Rudimental also made an electrifying return to the stage this year with a secret canal boat party for the ravers, a headline set at Glastonbury’s West Holts stage for the festival crowd along with their own ‘Rudimental LIVE’ show at Crystal Palace Bowl celebrating 10 years of their debut album ‘Home’.
Reconnection is a theme that lies at the core of Rudimental’s new chapter. The band have gone full circle with their new material. The dynamism and energy inherent in the drum & bass genre has been essential to the Rudimental sound from day one. Born ravers at heart, they have an innate ability to ignite festival stages and clubs around the world, and it’s this intrinsic spirit of the rave that has reemerged in their singles. The boys continue to be busy in their beloved studio, finding joy in utilising the space as a club of sorts. With more new music on the way, and the excitement and energy generated by wiping the slate clean for a fresh start, Rudimental are poised to take over the world once again.
