With average petrol and diesel taxes for the UK still the highest of any other EU country, one Essex MP has vowed to work hard for his constituents.
Harlow MP Robert Halfon said “This war on motorists has got to stop.” as he announced he will be supporting the FairFuelUK #cutfuelduty4growth campaign ahead of next week’s Budget.
Mr Halfon said “I have been campaigning for lower fuel duty since I was first elected to Parliament and I am very pleased that it has been cut or frozen every year since 2011. These actions save the average car driver £130 a year and the average van driver £350.”
Mr Halfon who is the Vice-Chair of the Fair Fuel Parliamentary Group added “I will keep working hard with FairFuel UK to campaign on this issue and ensure we get a fair deal for hardworking motorists.”
