Brand new for 2023, RHS Garden Harlow Carr will host its first series of Garden Inspiration Weekends this June. Set in the stunning surroundings of the most northerly of the RHS gardens, each weekend will be themed to focus on a different aspect of gardening:
Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 June: Grow Your Own
Learn how to grow the tastiest ingredients in any space and turn them into delicious dishes. With inspirational talks from expert Martin Fish.
Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 June: Creative Containers
From patio pots to window boxes, pick up hints and tips for gardens of all shapes and sizes, and learn how to make the most of your space.
Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 June: Cut Flower Gardens
Create your own beautiful flower garden and learn how to create stunning displays with masterclasses from floristry expert Jonathan Moseley.
A must for garden lovers as well as those looking to get started, each event will bring an array of exhibitors to the beautiful 58-acre garden in Harrogate. Discover early summer blooms, tempting edibles, shrubs, bulbs, and rare and unusual perennials from an array of specialist nurseries.
Experts will be on hand to give top gardening advice, while a beautiful range of garden ornaments will be available from a variety of trade stands. A fantastic programme of live music will add to the atmosphere at each event, along with a delicious selection of local food and drink, including from the iconic Betty’s Tea Rooms.
Visitors can enjoy a packed programme of demonstrations and workshops each weekend, including renowned Yorkshire-based gardener and RHS judge Martin Fish, who will be on hand to share his advice and insight from more than 30 years’ experience, while floral designer Jonathan Moseley will demonstrate how to create stunning cut summer flower displays. Jonathan will also be creating a spectacular display of summer blooms, themed to each weekend to welcome visitors to the garden. There will also be Garden Tours from the RHS Harlow Carr Garden Team and specialist help and advice available from members of the RHS Garden Advisory team.
June is a perfect time to appreciate the garden in its early summer splendour – from the inspiring allium displays, to the renowned spectacle of the garden’s Himalayan blue poppies (Meconopsis) and candelabra primulas by the Streamside, thought to be one of the longest streamside gardens in the country.
Priced at the normal garden admission rate and free for members, visitors can enjoy not only the colourful surroundings of RHS Harlow Carr in all its summer glory, but also take the opportunity to pick up some inspiration to transform their own space at home.
