03 Aug REVIEW: Green’s Stakehouse, Southgate
by Dan Bryans
A recent visit to Green’s Stakehouse & Grill in Southgate, N14 proved that fine dining and eloquent settings needn’t cost a fortune.
From my arrival, I was impressed by the close proximity of the eatery to the train station, a short walk from Southgate station this little gem should be every steak and homemade burger fan’s first choice option.
Whilst the menu boasted of Calamari, Homemade BBQ wings and Mushroom Soup for starters for mains you can quite simply go for one of their signature homemade burgers including their BEAST of a burger dubbed ‘The Ox’ which features a double burger with onion rings and melted cheese.
Whilst house cuts of steak such as Sirloin and Rib Eye are on hand to offer a varied menu that also features glazed and slow roasted ribs.
My experience:
I was served by Alex, who showed me to a table and suggested a suiting bottle of wine.
For my starters I had Sliders (£7) which is a selection of three mini burgers, for my main course the Sirloin (£21) steak well done ticked all the boxes for me.
When time for dessert came I wasn’t sure which way to go, the Warm Chocolate Brownie (£5.95) ticked all my boxes and made a well deserved addition to my waistline!
Dinner for 1 cost: £35-£45
My verdict: 5/5
“A tongue tickling heavenly journey in a cosy, homely and eloquent steakhouse”
