16 Sep Rare Pair of Giant Sibling Schnauzers handed in to Dogs Trust Basildon
Dogs Trust Basildon recently welcomed an unusual pair of Giant Schnauzers to the centre, who were handed in after a change in their owner’s circumstances. Since August 2018, Dogs Trust has only had five Giant Schnauzers come into its care across its 21 rehoming centres, including this rare pair. This is a tiny 0.047% of Dogs Trust’s total intake in the last year, which was over 10,000 new dogs.
The sizeable siblings, Bane (54 kg) and his sister Kara (41 kg) are both four years young and have a combined weight of almost 100 kg, the same as a baby elephant. They are looking for a roomy new home, so that they can stay together forever.
Rehoming Centre Deputy Manager at Dogs Trust Basildon, Kelly McMaster said:
‘It’s always great when you see unusual breeds at Dogs Trust Basildon, and this beautiful duo have caused real excitement at the centre. Not only are they a wonder to behold, they are also a delight to be around and love their human and four legged friends alike.
Due to their size, they have previously lived outdoors but could live indoors if there was plenty of space in their new home. The pair have a beautiful bond and are looking for new owners who are used to big dogs and can take them in together. The gentle giants could live with children over the age of 14.”
If you think you could give this rare pair of gentle giants the large and loving home they need, please give Dogs Trust Basildon a call on 01268 214694 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
