17 Jul Pursuit Resources Group supports The Edith Borthwick School summer picnic
Children and families revelled in a day packed with fun at The Edith Borthwick School’s annual summer picnic.
Pursuit Resources Group was a participant in supporting the school’s summer picnic by providing free bucket hats and bouncy castles for families to enjoy.
The special school for learners aged 3-19 welcomed existing and potential pupils and their families to enjoy a picnic on the field, craft stalls and gifts made by the school’s learners, plus football on the playing field. Headteacher, Maggie Loveday, even took to the stocks, with children paying £1.00 for two shots with a wet sponge!
Pursuit Resources Group, also based in Braintree, supported the event to ensure new schoolchildren got the chance to meet their new classmates pre-summer holidays.
The initiative is part of Pursuit’s commitment to support their local community.
Lorraine Phair, Managing Director, Pursuit, has helped The Edith Borthwick School for 40 years. At the age of 16, Lorraine volunteered at the school and, since setting up Pursuit in Braintree, has remained committed to assisting them.
Lorraine said: “The Edith Borthwick School has a special place in my heart. I am passionate about supporting my local community and I am always looking for ways for Pursuit to give back. It was great to see the children and their families enjoying a fun family day out, whilst meeting their new teachers and classmates.”
The Edith Borthwick School is a highly successful community all age special school for people with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism.
Pursuit will also be sponsoring the school’s Leavers’ Ball.
