Veterans of the Armed Forces and borough key workers will be given priority on 30 new homes in Billericay.
Basildon Council’s house building company, Sempra Homes, has announced the award of the build contract to Davis Contractors for the design and build of the new homes in Queens Park Court.
Improvements to the existing sheltered accommodation will be delivered alongside the new build scheme of one and two bed apartments which will be available on a shared ownership basis.
Manager of Sempra Homes Melanie Keys said: This is an exciting project for Sempra where we will be delivering much needed affordable homes suited to both first time buyers and downsizers. We are working in partnership with Homes England to deliver this scheme and I look forward to working with Davis Contractors with the construction of the new homes and Calford Seadon our employers agents.”
Leader of Basildon Council Councillor Gavin Callaghan said: “This is excellent news for our residents, key workers and veterans from the Armed Forces who deserve an opportunity to get on the housing ladder. Queens Park Court is an exciting new scheme that further establishes our Basildon first approach to housing in the borough and our commitment to ensuring key public sector personnel like healthcare professionals, police officers and teachers are given the best chance at finding a home here.”
