15 May Pop-up Havaianas store opens at Freeport Braintree
The new Havaianas pop-up shop will be offering the brand’s colourful range of flip-flops and accessories.
Just opened, Havaianas will join over 85 stores offering savvy fashionistas up to 60% off regular High Street prices all year round at Freeport Braintree.
Since its launch in 1962, by Scottish entrepreneur Robert Fraser, Havaianas has become a global success, with its bright, fun and vibrant designs selling around 200 million pairs every year.
Fraser was originally inspired by Japanese zori sandals –Sao Paolo is home to 1.6 million Japanese, the largest community outside of Japan – with the pattern of the soles designed to resemble the straw soles of zori. The word Havaianas, is the feminine form of the Portuguese word for ‘Hawaiians’- which is also home to a sizeable Japanese community.
Timed to capitalise on its association with a laid-back, spontaneous way of life and the long, lazy days of summer the Havaianas pop-up store will only be open for four months.
The new shop is located between the Ted Baker and Nike stores and will offer the brand’s signature flip flops, espadrilles and sandals, plus eyewear, bags and even lilos. Perfect for hitting the beach or cutting a dash at a pool party!
