10 Dec Pay victory for contract workers at Ford Dagenham hailed by Unite
A significant pay victory for contract workers employed at Ford Dagenham has been notched up by Unite the union.
More than 300 workers assembling engines, employed by Lineside Logistics at the Ford plant, have overwhelmingly voted to accept a one year 5.1 per cent pay deal backdated to 1 July 2021.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Given the particularly difficult circumstances in the automotive sector currently this significant pay deal demonstrates, yet again, that Unite continues to deliver for its members in challenging economic times.”
Unite regional officer Matt Smith said: “I would like to thank our hard working reps and members whose solidarity greatly contributed to this pay victory and this is reflected in the big spike in membership at Lineside which will enable us to deliver so much more going forward.”
Unite is dedicated to advancing the jobs, pay and conditions of its members and will fight back against any efforts to diminish workers’ living standards.
