All-day Danish bakery Ole & Steen introduces a new fresh menu, just in time for summer – enticing Brits to ‘summer like a Dane’ and ditch the al’desko for alfresco’.
As a nation with limited hours of sunlight during the winter months, the Danes know how to make the most of summer. Whether it’s enjoying their lunch alfresco, getting back into nature with a picnic in hand or simply ditching four wheels for two, embracing every ray of sunshine is a must. And it is this mentality that has inspired the new summer menu at Ole & Steen with a range of delicious treats aimed to create the ultimate outdoor Hygge moment, to be enjoyed individually or shared with others.

The Sommer Prawn Roll;

A Houmous & Chia Rye Crisps Bundle;

Sundried Tomato Pesto Houmous; topped with chilli flakes or the Edamame Pesto Houmous; topped with mixed seeds. Both paired perfectly with Chia Rye Crisps; available as a bundle.
The new summer menu also features a range of delicious breads with accompanying sandwich recipes, perfect for those looking to pack up a picnic and journey further afield for their lunch. The Sønderjysk Loaf, a soft light Rye with a mild malty flavour, baked with rye and wheat flour – is ideal for the Sønderjysk Meatball Sandwich. And for those that want to bring the sharing element, the new Garlic & Herb Tear ‘n Share, made of soft and fluffy milk bread rolls topped with garlic and herb butter, is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Or for those looking for a morning treat, the Sausage & Omelette Breakfast Roll with sausage patty, omelette, and cheddar or the Omelette Breakfast Roll with omelette, cheddar, and baby spinach; both served warm with spiced butter in a Skagen roll, are sure to perk up even the earliest of risers.
Alternatively, for something a little more indulgent, why not try the Christianshaver Cake. This sweet treat features a chewy hazelnut base topped with strawberry cream and fresh berries is a pure taste of summer.
