The public are invited to put forward their choices for the best people, places and businesses in Harlow town centre.

Nominations for the Harlow Town Centre Awards 2021 can now be made online at www.harlowtowncentre.co.uk/nominate. There are 14 award categories varying from Retailer of the Year, Community & Voluntary Organisation or Project of the Year to Employee of the Year.

This year’s awards will celebrate and honour the places and people that have kept Harlow Town Centre going in the last 18 months. The awards, which are organised by Harlow Council, were first launched in 2017, but not held last year due to the pandemic.

Nominations will close on 4 October 2021. Following nominations, the finalists will be put to the public vote and judges with the awards ceremony taking place on Tuesday 2 November in the Council Chamber.

Councillor Dan Swords, cabinet portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “We will be bringing forward major plans for the regeneration and renewal of Harlow town centre. That is not a tinkering at the edges, but a complete rebuild to ensure our town centre is one of the best in Britain.

“The existing businesses and people who make our town centre will all have a part to play in its exciting future. The last 18 months has been an hugely challenging time for all those involved in the town centre. That is why this year’s awards will celebrate and recognise the people, places and businesses who have kept the town centre going and continued to serve residents and businesses.“

The headline sponsor for the awards are McBains who working with the Council on a number of housing developments and regeneration projects across the district.
