Ten of this year’s Essex Teaching Awards winners were awarded Pearson Teaching Awards Certificates of Excellence last month, while Essex Teaching Awards finalist Laura Townsend (Clacton County High School) won a silver award in the Outstanding New Teacher of the Year category.
Cllr Ray Gooding, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, said: “With another excellent academic year now coming to an end, now is a great time to be thinking about the outstanding contribution of teachers and support staff in the county’s schools.
“We have some fantastic staff working in schools in Essex and these awards provide the ideal opportunity to acknowledge their commitment and hard work.
“Whether you work in a school yourself or are a governor, pupil or parent, if you know someone deserving of an award, I would encourage you to nominate them.”
Nominations opened today and will close on Friday, 18 November 2016.
