06 Jun New play areas have been unveiled for Wickford children
Two colourful new play areas have been unveiled in time for summer.
Children in Wickford can enjoy playing on slides, climbing frames, see-saws and more after Basildon Council invested a total of nearly £60,000 into equipment in Heybridge Drive and Doeshill Drive.
Cllr Kevin Blake, Chairman of the Leisure, Culture and Environment Committee, visited the new playgrounds on Friday (1 June) alongside Cllr George Jeffery, who represents Wickford Park ward.
Cllr Blake said: “We are committed to providing top quality facilities for young people throughout the borough, and I’m sure children in Wickford will enjoy having two new outdoor areas in which to play and keep active.”
