05 Nov New medical centre for South Woodham Ferrers opens on 11 November
After four years of planning, discussion and construction, the three GP surgeries in South Woodham Ferrers will be open in a modern new facility from Monday 11 November.
Greenwood Surgery, Brickfields Surgery and Kingsway Surgery will be moving into Crouch Vale Medical Centre, on Burnham Road near the Sainsbury’s site, over the weekend of 9th and 10th November. This is the first of its kind medical facility in Mid Essex – where multiple GP practices will be providing primary care services within one medical centre.
The new medical centre will provide a premises that is fit for the 21st century and gives a great opportunity for integrated health provision for the town.
The practices and other parts of the local NHS have worked with local transport companies, charities and other NHS services that support you to ensure the smoothest possible transition. And we are incredibly grateful to you, our local community, for your patience during the transition.
The latest version of the FAQ for the three surgeries’ registered patients will be up on their websites very soon along with details of transport arrangements to make getting to Crouch Vale Medical Centre (a name chosen suggestions submitted by local residents) as smooth as possible.
The reception desk on the ground floor of Crouch Vale Medical Centre will be residents’ gateway to most of the services available in the new building . Medical services ranging from GPs and practice nurses to the blood testing service from Mid Essex Hospital Trust and voluntary groups based on the first floor will all be offered from this new medical facility.
The practices are also sharing a newsletter with their patients covering more details of the move and this is available on their websites.
