NEW CUSTOMS SERVICE LAUNCHED IN ESSEX

04 Sep NEW CUSTOMS SERVICE LAUNCHED IN ESSEX

Essex Chambers of Commerce are already renowned for the support they provide to exporters but have taken this a stage further by launching “ChamberCustoms” in the county.

ChamberCustoms is a service developed by the British Chambers of Commerce network to help businesses deal with the changes to exports and imports post Brexit. All goods moving between the UK, the EU and beyond now require a customs declaration to proceed and with that comes extra paperwork and headaches for businesses and their employees.

ChamberCustoms is delivered by fully trained staff across the UK Chambers of Commerce network and aims to deliver a fast, reliable, and HMRC compliant service that businesses of all types and sizes can trust. ChamberCustoms has links to all sea, air, rail and road ports and terminals across the UK.

Speaking about this new service Jane Rose, Essex Chambers’ Head of International Trade, said “Our new ChamberCustoms service complements our existing international trade offer to businesses, taking any worries about customs declarations off their shoulders and enabling them to concentrate on developing their overseas markets. With fully HMRC trained staff and our emphasis on compliance, we are ready to help Essex businesses hit the ground running and thrive in today’s global economy”

Jacqui Knowles, Export Sales & OEM Co-ordinator at Rega Research Limited, added “Since onboarding with Essex Chambers in July we have received a fast, professional and efficient service. The friendly team are always quick to respond and understand the importance of our products being moved swiftly without delay. The team have been able to guide us through some of the complexities of the CHIEF system and have supported us to ensure goods are correctly registered as Exports for HMRC. Using the Chamber Customs declaration service also gives us the confidence that their knowledge is current so they can guide us through any future changes in the customs Import and Export procedure.”
