22 Feb Meet the Woman behind the A-Lister Evenings, Dame Emma Jane Brown
A-Lister promoter and event planner extraordinaire, Dame Emma Jane Brown, who was recently included in Empire Publishing’s list of the 150 Most Outstanding Women in the World, laid on an impressive event a few weeks adding Whoopi Goldberg to her impressive roster.
Over the last two years she has attracted luminaries like Michael Douglas, Charlie Sheen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sly Stallone and Al Pacino to the UK from across the pond.
Each time the formula is the same. Dame Emma Jane Brown lays on a VVIP event that allows members of the public a chance to get up close and personal with their Hollywood idols.
Dame Emma Jane explains: “For those who idolise the movie greats, my evenings with the Hollywood legends typically include the best seats in the theatre, an invitation to a champagne reception and the chance to get up close and personal with the star at the after show party. For most, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. After all, what could be better than hearing about the life of your idol and then having a face-to-face chat with him over a glass or two of Champagne?”
Dame Emma Jane’s company EJB Events lays on amazing experiences during the course of each year. The specialise in arranging everything from private functions, dinner parties with celebrities, fashion shows, film premieres and access to red carpet events to sporting events with leading sports personalities to holidays to the most luxurious and unusual locations.
Talking about the businesses inception and inspiration behind it she explained “I was forced to retire from show jumping after developing an allergy to horses. Although I commentated for Sky Sport and Eurosport for a while I am an entrepreneur at heart.
I have an appetite for business and had been looking for something that I had a natural insight into.”
Dame Emma Jane hit the sporting headlines in 1984 at the age of 20 when she won the Ladies National Championship of Great Britain. Three years later she secured the Foxhunter Championship on her fabulous world famous horse Oyster at Wembley Arena. In 1989 she became the first female show jumper to compete on the American Fall Circuit when, as part of the British Nations Cup team, she won the World Cup qualifier.
Dame Emma Jane has brought her success and experience from show jumping into the evening business where her USP is setting up events that give a rare insight into the A Lister’s professional and personal world.
Adding on to her slate of success Dame Emma Jane has began giving back, she tells us “As important is the sense of pride we take in being able to carry out our charity work with the EJB Foundation which I set up as the natural extension of the work I have done for and on behalf of Karen Law – Britain’s first blind show-jumper for whom I sky dived to buy a horse to compete on three years ago.”
Talking about her future plans she added “We’ve also set up new sections of the business and launched our Privilege Club, Calendar Club and Legacy Club. The Legacy Club excites me the most because it involves corporate social responsibility events and initiatives that are great fun and really benefit society. ”
