23 May Meet The Four Projects selected for Harlow SOUP’s next community crowdfunding event
Four community projects have been selected for the May Harlow SOUP the four projects are:
• Pact for Autism: project to support older children and young adults with autism and SEN with social, supportive and fun activities
• Teens Unite Fighting Cancer: project helping teenagers who have been diagnosed with cancer manage their anxiety through creative expression
• Changing Lives in Harlow: project helping vulnerable children in Harlow with sporting opportunities steering them away from gang related violence
• Godsafe Almshouses: project to improve the heating systems in the 14 Harlow based almshouses which are for retired people with a housing, financial or social need.
The event will see the four projects pitch their idea in four minutes to attendees, as well as answer four questions from the audience who will then vote for their favourite project. The event is “pay what you feel” entry, and all of the money raised on the door is awarded to a project at the end of the night.
Doors will open from 6.30pm on Thursday 30th May and will feature live music from a local musician, two homemade soups, bread, cakes, tea/coffee and more.
Previous winners Butterfly Volunteers, who won £613.86 towards their project, will be presenting to attendees about how they have spent SOUP funds.
This Harlow SOUP event will also feature a food donation point for Safer Places and a raffle to raise money for future Harlow SOUP events.
Previous winners of Harlow SOUP have included homelessness charity Streets 2 Homes, Aspire Support Learn (ASL), Rock School and Plants, Pots and Wellies who all received hundreds of pounds towards their respective projects.
