10 Sep Meet the British Urban Film Festival award winners for 2017

The British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) awards, in it’s 3rd year was hosted this evening at the iconic BT Towers. Co-hosted by BUFF Patron, actress Kyla Frye and actor Sam Benjamin (Doctor Who). The evenings proceedings were streamed live via BUFF’s Facebook page and will be shown on BT.com later this month.
The 2017 winners are:
BT BUFF Award for Best Short Film, “Hush” directed by Alex Campbell, produced by Candice Onyeama.
Blessing Anyiam-Osigwe Award for Best Actress award “Rosamund Pike” for A United Kingdom.
BT BUFF Award for Best Actor David Oyelowo “A United Kingdom”.
BT BUFF Award for Best Feature Film “The Intent” Co-directed by Femi Oyeniran and Kalvadour Petersen
BT BUFF Award for Best live script recipients: ”Draw” written by Isis Davis,“Joe Pair” written by Adriel Leff and “Sara White and the Seven Socialites” written by Sinitta Monero.
BT BUFF Award for Best Emerging Male Actor Elijah Baker for his role in short film “Signs of Silence”.
BT BUFF Award for Best Emerging Female Actress Isis Davis for her role in short film “Cover Me”.
BT BUFF 2017 Honorary Awards recipient is Ashley Walters, celebrating 25 years of outstanding contributing to screen.
