13 Feb Mayor of Basildon officially reopens Festival Leisure Park’s McDonald’s
The popular fast food chain in Festival Leisure Park, Basildon, reopened on Tuesday 11th January following the restaurant closing for refurbishment.
To celebrate the successful refurbishment, The Mayor of Basildon, Councillor David Burton-Sampson attended the official reopening ceremony on Thursday 13thFebruary, marking the restaurants reopening by cutting the red-ribbon!
McDonald’s now boasts new technology, seeing the restaurant become the first McDonald’s in Essex to welcome new digital menu drive-thru boards, allowing customers to view their order before paying.
Inside the restaurant itself, the store has welcomed two new self-service wall kiosks alongside new digital food menu boards. The counter has also been split into ordering and pick-up stations, resulting in a quicker turnaround for customers ordering and collecting food.
The refurbishment has certainly impacted the store from top to bottom, with new flooring and the introduction of a brand-new green roof, cementing McDonald’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
The restaurant is owned and operated by franchisee Gen Isikgun who employs over 420 staff across her four restaurants in Essex. She says of the new changes: “I’m delighted that our Festival Park restaurant has a new, modern look and I’m sure it will improve the experience for our local customers. It’s important that we continue to reinvest in our restaurants to ensure we are always providing customers with the food they want, when and how they want it.”
