12 Sep Man and woman charged after £180,000 of drugs seized
A man and a woman have been charged after police found drugs with an estimated street value of £180,000 during a house search at Shoeburyness.
Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate seized 2.3 kilos of cocaine and 71 grammes of cannabis after executing a search warrant at a property in Shoebury Avenue on Monday September 5.
A significant amount of cash was also found during the investigation.
Charlotte Johnson, 28 and Rocky Palmer 35, both of Shoebury Avenue were arrested at a caravan site in Clacton on Wednesday and later charged with possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply and money laundering.
They were remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Magistrates Court today, Thursday September 8. Palmer was further remanded in custody until October 6 and Johnson was bailed to the same date.
Acting DI Ed Mayo of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “Essex Police is committed to tackling drug dealing in the county and this is a significant find which has removed £180,000 of drugs from the streets.
