17 Jul Maldon rally driver Tejpar aims for Iberica Cup points at Rallye de Ferrol
British rally driver Nabila Tejpar will resume her Peugeot Rallye Cup Iberica campaign this weekend at Rallye de Ferrol (21/22 July) in Spain with the hope of bagging more points for her debut season in the series.
Tejpar, 24 from Maldon in Essex enjoyed a confidence-boosting opening round of the single make championship for the Peugeot 208 R2, taking 11th place at the Vodafone Rally de Portugal back in May.
With Richard Bliss in the co-drivers seat once again, the duo will be aiming to capitalise on their strong start whilst picking up valuable experience of European events along the way.
With two seasons in the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) under her belt, Tejpar was handed the opportunity to head to Spain and Portugal this season to further develop her career in the sport.
Competing with the PT Racing outfit, she will tackle six round series with incorporates two FIA World Rally Championship qualifiers before the season ends with Rali Casinos do Algarve in November.
However, when the schedule allows, Tejpar has vowed to contest selected rounds of the British Championship, the first of which was the Renties Ypres Rally in Belgium last month. Despite not making it to the end of the event due to clutch failure during the closing stages, the reigning Ladies Champion believes it will be a valuable experience for the next round in Spain.
