15 Jun Maldon rally driver Nabila Tejpar heads to Belgium to kickstart championship campaign
Maldon rally driver Nabila Tejpar will kick off her Prestone MSA British Rally Championship campaign next weekend as she heads to Belgium for the Ypres Rally on the 22nd of June.
Driving her Peugeot 208 R2, Tejpar will contest her first BRC round of the season after committing to the Peugeot Rallye Cup Iberica. The European championship takes place in six rounds, spread across Spain and Portugal and includes two FIA World Rally Championship events.
The forthcoming Ypres Rally will also mark her competitive debut on a sealed surface event in the Peugeot and she will be co-driven by regular partner Richard Bliss.
Tejpar has enjoyed a successful start to her foreign campaign, taking 11th overall in the competitive single-make series at the opening round and WRC qualifier, Vodafone Rally de Portugal. With 21 contenders, the championship offers close competition in identical machines and the 24-year-old has looked to Europe to further develop her skills and experience events outside of the UK.
After taking the British Ladies Rally Championship title in 2017 behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R2, Tejpar has not returned to the series since the final round on the Isle of Man in September. Now, she will head to the closed road event in Belgium to tackle round two of the championship and gain valuable asphalt experience in the rapid front wheel drive car.
The Essex driver is delighted to be returning to both Belgium and the British Championship.
