24 Jun Make your first post-lockdown cinema visit one to remember at Stratford’s Rooftop Film Club
Bend it Like Beckham fans are in for a treat this June as Rooftop Film Club at Roof East is hosting a one-off screening for its 20th anniversary in collaboration with the London Indian Film Festival. As part of a series of special screenings and director talks on the rooftop this summer, the screening on 25th June will feature an introduction by Director Gurinder Chadha, promising an evening of feel good nostalgia and football fun.
Throughout June, Rooftop Film Club has also partnered with RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) to host a number of Q&As that delve into the meaning behind the cinematic choices of films, alongside screenings for the London Festival of Architecture. For an understanding of the significance of interiors in multi award-winning Korean thriller Parasite, head down to Bussey Building on 22nd June for a Q&A session with architectural writer and regular columnist for the RIBA Journal, Will Wiles. A Q&A for Italian drama, I am Love, will also take place on 28th June, revealing the fascinating creative direction behind the film.
Visitors to the rooftop throughout the summer will be able to support London Youth Charity and give a donation at checkout and with any online purchases.
