30 Sep London Southend Airport achieves ‘OUTSTANDING’ result
London Southend Airport has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ following its recent quality assurance framework audit by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The recent audit was completed in September by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) covering every area and critical element. The quality assurance framework is based on supporting instructors and training providers to achieve and maintain a good baseline of training quality and conduct their own internal quality assurance. The framework is mandatory for training providers registered with the CAA and includes two steps – a self-assessment stage and an external assurance visit.
Glyn Jones, CEO, London Southend Airport, “We are thrilled with the result, to achieve ‘outstanding’ is almost unheard of, and commends the hard work of the team. From the airport training strategy to document control and facilities, every area has achieved outstanding status.
My special thanks go out to the aviation trainers Jodie Ogle and Georgi Loveland. Georgi demonstrated hard work, commitment and dedication to the QAF programme assuring that the goals and targets were achieved. Georgi worked alongside Siobhan Walters to ensure the training provider status from the first audit was achieved. On the second audit the team were advised that the same result as outstanding is difficult to achieve, therefore the team is delighted that all the results came back as outstanding.”
