London boat trip launch that’s set to make you happier and healthier.

13 Apr London boat trip launch that’s set to make you happier and healthier.

After recent research revealed that Brits are the most stressed at 7:23am*, eco-friendly, self-driven boat company GoBoat is giving Brits their mornings back and encouraging them to put their mental health at the top of their to-do list, with brand new wellness cruises on the water.

The boating experience is turning the viral ‘5 to 9’ Tik Tok productivity trend on its head, and encouraging Brits to actually slow down, be less productive and relax before 9am, to help set the tone for the day ahead. The early morning wellbeing cruises will be hosted with wellness expert Dr. Audrey Tang, who will guide participants through a 60-minute sunrise session whilst they sail on the peaceful waterways in London and Birmingham.

Each class will include posture alignment, breathing exercises, group vibration alignment and a body scan relaxation. It will also include chakra alignment and a ‘wonder ride’ – where those sailing will be encouraged to focus on the awe, joy, inspiration and surprise happening around them, all whilst gliding down the picturesque canals. The session will finish with intention setting and gratitude practice and each person will go home with their very own gratitude journal, so they can incorporate the skills they’ve learnt into their regular morning routines.

GoBoats are traditionally a self-driven boating experience, however for the 5-9 wellness cruises each boat will have its very own expert captain, whilst attendees relax before the hustle and bustle of the day begins and take advantage of the mental health benefits of being near the water.

Phones will also be banned so your early morning inbox doesn’t become a distraction. Each eco-friendly electric boat has an almost silent motor – meaning you can relax and unwind in peace. Plus, if you book onto one of the earlier classes, you may even get a glimpse of a beautiful city sunrise.

The events will take place from 5am – 9am on hump days (Wednesdays) in April and May, with three 60 minute wellness cruises taking place on each of the following dates:

Wed April 19th – GoBoat Paddington, Merchant Square, London, W2 1AS
Wed April 26th – GoBoat Canary Wharf, 22 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, E14 5RE
Wed May 3rd – GoBoat Birmingham, The Water’s Edge, Brindleyplace, Birmingham, B1 2HL

Dr. Audrey Tang, chartered psychologist and wellbeing expert commented: “Our body’s natural circadian rhythms respond well to the daylight, and with mornings getting lighter, giving yourself an early positive start to the day can set the tone for the rest of the day. But this doesn’t mean jumping out of bed to answer emails at 5.30am. Instead it’s great to take that time to engage in simple mindfulness practices, such as deep breathing, stretching, gratitude, and setting your intentions, which have been found to enhance focus, creativity and performance, lower anxiety, and even improve our interactions.”

Audrey continued: “With the new GoBoat cruises we’re combining that with the calming effect of water and the biophilic benefits of being out in nature, which means your blood pressure can lower while your serotonin levels get a boost. Further, the opportunity to zone in on the naturescapes – the sounds of the stream or the songs of the birds, rather than the human-made mechanical and industrial noises we have habituated to – is rejuvenating for body and mind, as well as giving us an overall sense of wellbeing and positivity.”
