Jim scooped the award for Barber of the Year at this years Essex Salon Awards, a business awards that highlights the hairdressing talent in the Essex area. To enter, Jim had to put together a written entry highlighting why he was worthy of the award, his career highlights and how he provides the best client experience and services to his clients. The judges then chose Jim as the winner of the category and presented him with his award at the ceremony held at the Five Lakes Resort in November where winners of all eighteen categories gathered to celebrate in style and celebrate their success.
Jim was also chosen as the winner of the NHF Photographic Awards for the Male Fashion Look Collection. The NHF Awards are a prestigious competition within the industry that encourage stylists, barbers, beauty therapists and makeup artists at all levels to showcase their work for a chance to be recognised by industry leaders and Jim’s incredible photographic collection that shows his creativity and hairdressing and barbering skills are what made him a worthy winner of this award.
Winning both of these awards is a fantastic achievement for Jim, but not something unknown to him, as his work continually gets rewarded in the industry. Jim is also a finalist for the Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards, the most coveted awards to win at in the hairdressing industry, and will find out his fate at the awards ceremony that takes place on the November 25th in London.
Jim Shaw, Owner of Essensuals and EssensualsMEN commented, “To win both of these awards in the same week is just incredible. The NHF Awards are so well known within the industry and to win an award at the Essex Salon Award in the local area is such an honour. Winning these awards and being awarded for my barbering and hairdressing work means so much to me and hopefully the good luck will remain with me for next weeks British Hairdressing Awards! To add the Men’s Hairdresser of the Year title to my awards would be unbelievable. “
