04 Oct Local retirement village joins world’s biggest coffee morning
Residents from Moat Park are no strangers to a chatty coffee morning accompanied with tea and cake in their clubhouse– but today they’ve decided to share their coffee morning with the rest of the world.
In support of Macmillan Coffee Morning, staff and residents join together to raise money for those living with cancer. Their efforts allowed them to raise over £150 for the cancer charity.
Village Manager, Kerriann Brill says: “It’s been a great event for both staff and residents to raise money for such an important cause. This is a typical reflection of Moat Park’s community spirit and their willingness to support charities and make generous donations. Well done to everyone involved!”
The money raised can have a major impact on those who need it. According to the charity: “£52 could help run our Online Community forum for over an hour. Typically, that would give nearly 750 people affected by cancer both emotional and practical support.”
With one in two of us now facing a cancer diagnosis, Moat Park were glad to put their generosity to such a growingly important cause.
