01 Dec Local NHS seeking to recruit Patient Safety Partners
Patients are being put in the driving seat to make care safer by becoming members of groups that are in charge of safety and quality for NHS organisations.
The local NHS is introducing new and exciting Patient Safety Partner roles that are open to members of the public to work as an advisor to help us deliver safe healthcare across mid and south Essex.
Patient Safety Partners will empower patients and their carers to be involved in their own safety, as well as being partners alongside staff, in improving patient safety in NHS organisations.
Candidates for the role will be expected to demonstrate a genuine commitment to developing and improving the safety of health services along with an understanding of patient safety.
The time commitment of each Patient Safety Partner will be dependent on the areas of work that they are involved with and can be discussed during role related conversations, but is expected not to exceed two days a month.
Frances Bolger, Executive Chief Nursing Officer for Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board said “We are seeking positive and enthusiastic people who have a broad and keen interest in helping to improve safety in health services and patient experience and provide a solution-focused approach to help make a difference.
We recognise, value, and support the important role Patient Safety Partners will play in being the voices of the people we serve. An induction, training and support and guidance will be provided.”
