LOCAL HOUSEBUILDER DOUBLES SUPPORT FOR GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL CLUB IN ESSEX

Premium housebuilder Redrow Eastern has strengthened its support for grassroots sport with a £1,000 donation to CFC Shalford Football Club – doubling its contribution to the club from the previous season. The donation will help maintain the club’s pitch following a busy summer and support improvements to its website, aiding player recruitment and community engagement.

Based in Braintree, just four miles from Redrow’s Millview Park development in Bocking, CFC Shalford has deep local roots. Founded in 1985 by cricketers from Braintree Cricket Club looking to stay active during the winter months, the club quickly rose through the ranks from Division 4 to the Premier Division of the Braintree & North Essex Sunday League.

Redrow’s continued support will help ensure players can train and compete on a safe, high-quality pitch while also helping the club attract new talent and strengthen its presence within the local community. Having worked with CFC Shalford for several years, this latest contribution reflects Redrow’s long-term commitment to supporting grassroots sport and fostering strong community partnerships.

Jody Bryant, Sales Director at Redrow Eastern, comments: “Local sports clubs are the heartbeat of our communities – they bring people together, promote wellbeing, and create lasting connections. We’re proud to continue our support and help the club maintain its facilities and grow its presence. With Millview Park just a few miles away, it’s fantastic to see our contribution making a difference right on our homeowners’ doorsteps.”

Ian Butcher, Chairman at CFC Shalford FC, comments: “Redrow’s ongoing support means a great deal to us. It’s more than just funding, it’s a partnership built over years, and it’s helping us build a stronger future for the club and the wider community. With a refreshed pitch and website, our players will be able to continue developing their skills and take the team to new successes. Bring on the next season!”
