20 Jul Local Garden Centre Celebrates Success at The Garden Centre Association Awards
On Wednesday 18 July, Tiptree based Perrywood Garden Centre celebrated a night of success at the Garden Centre Association North Thames Regional Awards 2018.
Perrywood won three coveted accolades including Destination Centre of the Year for the North Thames region. This is the second year running that Perrywood has been announced as the Destination Centre of the Year, reinforcing the garden centre’s commitment to delivering outstanding experiences for its customers.
Simon Bourne, Garden Centre Manager at Perrywood comments: “We are over the moon to have achieved such fantastic results at the Garden Centre North Thames Regional Awards. To be recognised once again by our trade association is testament to our continued success and highlights the team’s dedication to providing a unique garden centre experience. The awards are not possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of all the team.”
The 23 members of the GCA in the North Thames region were given an unannounced audit between March and June, with inspectors scoring them across all departments. The awards are given to those achieving the highest scores.
Perrywood was announced as a finalist for the Ruxley Rose Competition which means it has one of the top ten scoring plant areas within Destination Garden Centres. They will be inspected again in September and joint scores from Spring & Autumn will be used to decide the winner, announced in January 2019. This competition highlights excellent quality and range of plants and is regarded as one of the most prestigious awards of the year.
Perrywood also achieved top positions in a number of other categories including second place for Catering in Destination Centres, second place in the Barton Grange Commercial & Creativity Award, as well as a third place for the Environment and Community Award.
With customer service at the heart of everything Perrywood does, the business was delighted to receive the joint highest telephone score and joint highest website score. These scores recognise the company’s excellent standard of service for customers who enquire via the website and phone.
Judges also named Perrywood as a highly commended garden centre with a score of over 75%.
