09 Aug Local firm to raise money for ‘Sarah’s Garden’ at Quilters Junior School
On Sunday 8 September 2019, Simply will be taking part in John Baron MP’s annual Fun Walk, alongside Quilters Junior School. Ruth Napp, Managing Director of Simply, and members of the team will be walking in memory of Ruth’s sister, Sarah Cobb. A beloved Quilters Junior School teacher who passed away in 2013.
Both Simply and Quilters Junior school will be walking the hour long trail to raise funds for ‘Sarah’s Garden’, a beautiful space within the school that was created in memory of Sarah. The donations will allow every schoolchild to spend one afternoon per year in the garden, where they can spend time gardening, participating in arts and crafts or spending time remembering Sarah and their loved ones.
Run by Head Teacher Michael Wade, Quilters is a renowned junior school nestled within Billericay. Sarah was a popular teacher who worked at the school for 4 years before suddenly passing away.
For donations, Simply has created a Just Giving page with a target of £2,000 that will help aid Quilters Junior School by helping them fund the resources they need to fully utilise ‘Sarah’s Garden’.
Set up by John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay in 2002, the annual walk which is hosted by Barleylands farm, raises money for numerous local charities and good causes. Last year, for every £100 donated to a charity or cause, The Fun Walk donated £65 to the fundraising campaigns. They will be matching this with a similar figure for September’s event. This year’s event will run from 12pm – 2pm, with the walk starting at 1pm.
