11 Dec Local education and skills event launches Pathways to Success
Basildon Council held an Education and Skills breakfast event (Thursday 7 December) to introduce the Pathways to Success initiative.
Basildon Council is establishing the Pathways to Success Panel to review the effectiveness of the pathways available to young people in order to access opportunities in the borough and beyond.
The Panel will investigate how schools, businesses and other partners work together to ensure young people are informed and aware of the opportunities to them and how to take advantage of these. It will analyse evidence and collect ideas which will result in a series of recommendations to be presented in late spring next year.
Representatives from primary and secondary schools, further education providers, apprenticeships, council partners and employers heard from Cllr Linda Allport-Hodge, Basildon Council’s Chairman of the Infrastructure, Growth and Development Committee, about the aims of the Pathways to Success Panel and to invite them to be part of it.
