06 Apr Local children’s hospice urges residents to buy specialist Easter toys
A children’s hospice which serves families in West Essex is urging residents to support life-limited children this Easter by purchasing presents from its Amazon Wish List or gifts cards as a donation rather than with traditional chocolate eggs.
Every year Haven House Children’s Hospice receives hundreds of chocolate eggs at Easter from generous members of the public, but the eggs cannot be given to children cared for in the hospice due to the nature of their conditions. Many are unable to eat, drink and swallow whole food and are tube fed.
Rather than Easter eggs, the charity is urging kind-hearted residents to either purchase a gift card for somebody else as a donation to the hospice or items from its Amazon Wish List that would be of greatest use for children who use Haven House.
Since 2003, Haven House Children’s Hospice has provided palliative and holistic care for over 650 babies, children and young people
