12 Sep Local children’s hospice bereavement support service receives funding boost
Haven House Children’s Hospice says it will be able to provide bereavement support to more families after it was named as a beneficiary of ICAP’s Annual Charity Day.
The hospice provided bereavement support to 99 children and young people and their families in 2016/17.
On 5 December, ICAP, a leading financial markets operator based in the City, will give away its revenues and commissions to several charities, including Haven House in Woodford Green.
Haven House will use the funds from ICAP for its bereavement support service which provides specialist bereavement and emotional support to families who use the hospice, and to the families of children who have died at home or in hospital.
The service includes counselling which can support the whole family – mums, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents – in line with Haven House’s holistic ethos.
The funds will also help Haven House deliver bereavement support to families at home as part of Haven House’s Hospice at Home project.
