31 Jan Local brave mum prepares for fundraising sky dive
A mum from Dagenham will be fulfilling a lifelong ambition this weekend (February 3) by doing a sky dive. Bonny Ives is hoping to raise £1,000 for a charity very close to her heart, Children’s Liver Disease Foundations (CLDF).
Bonny’s eight year old son Tylen was born with the rare liver condition biliary atresia and was given a life-saving transplant when he was just 11 months old. Sadly his new liver is now also failing and Tylen is now on the waiting list for a second liver transplant.
“Children’s Liver Disease Foundation have always been there for me with support and information about Tylen’s condition and importantly they have made Tylen realise he’s not the only one with a scar on his belly and a ‘special liver’” explains Bonny.
“I wanted to give something back to the charity for the support they have given to us and as I’ve always wanted to do a sky dive it made perfect sense to do it for CLDF. I must admit though, as the big day gets closer, I’m getting really nervous and I’m having sleepless nights. I’m just going to think of it as the best ride I ever go on! I want Tylen and all the other children like him to know that there are people out there who really care and are raising money to do whatever we can for them.”
