Local author Eden Gruger released her first book ‘Down With Frogs’ on August 10th
The official launch evening was held on 20th September at Jo’s Bookshop, Station Road, Chingford, and was attended by many women from the local business community including Ruth Rood, Jo Baptiste and Lorraine Jay – from the Loughton WIBN; as well as Julie Clarke from ‘Hello Lashes by JA’.
Each of the fifteen stories in Down With Frogs is told by a different narrator, and shares a candid, humorous and sometimes painful story about the journey of the frogs you have to kiss to find your prince.
Although Down With Frogs is for everyone, it has been designed to be particularly accessible to Dyslexic readers and those with literacy issues.
Discussing the accessibility Eden told us “With a regular shape font, slightly larger text, wider spacing between lines, and bold titles to show the start of each new story. So many of my friends have issues that make them struggle with reading, that I wanted to make something with them in mind.”
Eden added “I have chosen a print on demand option for the paperback, to try and avoid adding to the problem of books ending up in landfill (approximately 2 billion a year in the US alone) and there is an eBook option for those who prefer to read on a device.”
