20 Nov Librarian Theatre bring Dickens classic to #Chelmsford
One of Dickens’ most well-loved classics, A Christmas Carol, will be brought to life this December, in a special performance at Chelmsford Library.
Taking place on Friday 2 December, the unique theatre adaptation will see the library transformed into the 19th century as Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and the ghosts relive the famous tale.
Part of a national tour organised by the Librarian Theatre Company, this is the only opportunity to catch the show in Essex.
Cllr Anne Brown, Essex County Council Cabinet Member responsible for Libraries, said: “A Christmas Carol is one of our most loved pieces of literature, and we are delighted to be one of the libraries selected to host this fantastic live performance.
“We are increasingly seeing our libraries used in new and different ways, and what a fantastic venue for live theatre.”
The performance takes place at 7.30pm on Friday 2 December. Tickets are £10.00 or £5.00 for concessions and can be purchased through librariantheatre.com or via the library.
