08 Sep Levi Roots teams up with MuscleFood to launch healthy food range
Online healthy food retailer MuscleFood has teamed up with renowned Caribbean chef Levi Roots to launch his first range of balanced ready meals.
The range features four tasty Caribbean dishes created by Levi, all under 500 calories and full of flavour.
The Caribbean Salmon Recipe Kit and Reggae Reggae Jerk Chicken Recipe Kit, both £5.00, provide ingredients and recipes for the dishes, encouraging customers to put a bit of music in their food.
The Caribana Chicken Pot and Sunshine Chicken Pot, both £3.99, are pre-prepared meals where customers need to only heat before they eat.
All of the products are nutritionally balanced, high in protein and have low sugar, along with the iconic Caribbean flavour.
Levi shot to fame when he received investment from Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh on Dragons Den for his Reggae Reggae Sauce and has since gone on to develop his own Caribbean inspired range including soft drinks, desserts and snacks.
Levi joined the MuscleFood team in the test kitchen, all the way through to tasting and signing off the final dishes.
Talking about the partnership Levi said: “The foundation of my brand was built on attracting and forging great partnerships in order for me to realise my Caribbean food and drink dream.
“I think that MuscleFood are the very best at what they do, it’s clear that authenticity and integrity are important to them.
“”During lockdown I’ve really looked at my diet and health in general and am very conscious about keeping my new healthy lifestyle, which is exactly what MuscleFood encourages their customers to do.
“I’ve loved working with the team and developing these tasty dishes and can’t wait to see what everyone else thinks of them too.”
Nick Preston, CEO at MuscleFood said: “It’s been great working with Levi on this range. Ever since we first met, we knew he’d be great for our brand.
“We’re no strangers to bold flavours and Levi Roots sauces would always come up in conversations with customers, so we met Levi in our development kitchen and we knew straight away that we could come up with something special.
“We’ve created a core range that we are really proud of, but we have so many ideas of how we might be able to extend the range going forward. Great flavours combined with great ingredients is key.
“We can’t wait to get back into the test kitchen with Levi and his guitar to see what else we can cook up!”
