Let them eat cake – free cake for the coronation if you wear this royal accessory

27 Apr Let them eat cake – free cake for the coronation if you wear this royal accessory

Brits can grab themselves free slices of cake across the May bank holiday weekend to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

To get their hands on a slice of limited edition cake, customers must go into their local Farmhouse Inns wearing a crown or tiara – in celebration of the momentous occasion – and say the phrase ‘a royal slice’ when ordering a cake at the till.

In return for their efforts, the lucky recipients will receive a slice of raspberry and lemonade cake, crafted in-house by Farmhouse Inns’ talented ‘cake-a-tiers’.

The giveaway will run between Saturday May 6th and Monday May 8th, across all Farmhouse Inns’ 70+ sites nationwide.

To mark the historic weekend, Farmhouse Inns is also launching an online competition to crown a Farmhouse Inns customer the ‘King or Queen of carvery or cake’ – with a whopping £2,000 prize going to one lucky winner.

To enter, carvery and cake lovers simply need to visit the Farmhouse Inns website here, enter their details and reveal whether they’re team carvery or cake.

In addition to the cash prize, the victorious King or Queen will also receive a year’s supply of free carvery or cake courtesy of Farmhouse Inns.

The royal-themed competition launches on April 27th and ends at midnight on 18th May.

Holly Brooks, senior marketing manager at Farmhouse Inns, said: “We’re incredibly excited to mark the once-in-a-lifetime occasion of a royal coronation in our own unique, Farmhouse Inns way – by serving up a free slice of our limited edition, sweet and zingy raspberry and lemonade cake to our wonderful customers across the bank holiday weekend.

“To grab a complimentary slice, homemade by our amazing in-house ‘cake-a-tiers’, you’ll need to get into the spirit of the occasion by donning a crown or tiara – just like the King and Queen Consort – and say the words ‘a royal slice’ when ordering.”
