09 Jan Last chance for local community groups to apply for funding of up to £2,000
Community and voluntary groups have just two weeks left to apply for funding of up to £2,000 towards their projects.
The Grants to Organisations fund is open to applications until 5.15pm on Friday, 25 January. Grants of between £100 and £2,000 are available from Basildon Council to support projects which will benefit the local community.
The fund is open to applications in three rounds throughout the financial year. So far in 2018/19, grants have supported a mental health programme, training workshops for parents, a gardening club for young people and a social club for older residents.
Councillor Andy Barnes, Chairman of the Communities Committee, said: “We’re committed to supporting groups and organisations which make a positive difference to the lives of our residents and play a crucial role in our communities.
“I would encourage all voluntary and community sector organisations, no matter how big or small, to consider applying to our Grants to Organisations fund while there is still time. It is a fantastic opportunity to get your project off the ground.”
Applications must be for one-off projects and not for financial assistance towards running costs or salaries.
