Land Sheriffs officer shortlisted for ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards 2026

Smarter security specialists, Land Sheriffs, have announced that one of their Trespass & Welfare Officers has been shortlisted as a finalist for the ACS Pacesetters ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Awards.

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is a quality assurance scheme which sets high operational and performance standards for private security companies in the UK.

The ‘Security Officer of Distinction’ Award recognises security professionals who have gone above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service within the Approved Contractor Scheme.

Land Sheriffs’ Trespass & Welfare Officer, Adnan Yaseen, was shortlisted in recognition of his professional response to two potential suicide attempts within just 24 hours.

As long-standing members of ACS Pacesetters, Land Sheriffs have seen their officers nominated, shortlisted and winning these awards for almost 20 years.

“The ACS Pacesetters Awards represent some of the highest standards within the security industry, so to be shortlisted again is a significant achievement! This just shows how Adnan’s exceptional contributions and commitment make a real difference to public safey” says James Coyle, Managing Director of Land Sheriffs.

Land Sheriffs’ Trespass & Welfare Team specialise in managing incidents involving vulnerable individuals trespassing on the railway in order to harm themselves or take their own life.

Adnan was nominated in recognition of his quick, caring and professional response dealing with two potential suicide attempts within a single day.

During both life-saving interventions, Adnan displayed expectional compassion and reassurance to support the individuals in crisis and bring them back to safety. One was escorted home while the other was taken to professional care.

“Our officers consistently go above and beyond to keep the public safe, even in very challenging and often unpredictable environments. Adnan is the perfect example of this. His quick response saved the lives of two vulnerable individuals and prevented significant emotional impact on their families and we’re incredibly proud his actions have been recognised” adds James.

For over 20 years, Land Sheriffs have been providing specialist security services including mobile patrols, manned guarding, welfare patrol teams and CCTV monitoring for clients across the UK.

The business has held ACS Pacesetter status since 2008, which places them in the top 15% of all UK security companies. This status shows that Land Sheriffs deliver an excellent standard of service and care for both clients and staff.

Land Sheriffs will be attending the ACS Pacesetters Awards on Wednesday 20th May 2026 at The Royal Windsor Racecourse.

“Events like this highlight the dedication and professionalism across the security industry. It’s an opportunity to recognise the people behind the work and we’re proud to see our team represented. Congratulations to all the nominees for their well-deserved recognitions and a special good luck to Adnan!” concludes James.
