02 May Kemi Badenoch selected as Conservative candidate for Saffron Walden
The Deputy Leader of the Conservative group on the London Assembly has this evening been selected as the Conservatovd candidate for Saffron Walden.
Kemi Badenoch who joined the Conservative Party in 2005 has beem no stranger to election cycles as in 2010 she stood in the Dulwich and West Norwood constituency against Tessa Jowell.
Stephen Parkinson and Laura Farris were defeated in the contest to select a candidate ahead of the general election next month.
In the 2015 General Election, Sir Alan Haselhurst secured a 24,991 majority in the constituency, Since a by-election in 1977, this safe Conservative seat has never faced any challenges.
