02 May Jubilee Art Competition offers chance of £1000 prize for local schools
The Baytree Shopping Centre is inviting local schools to take part in an art competition as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The centre is looking for pictures that are inspired by the Queen, reflecting her personality, interests, and achievements, with the winning entry receiving £1,000 for their school and the winner receiving a hamper full of goodies from stores at the centre.
The judges are looking for creative pictures of any size, created using either traditional materials or computer graphics. All entries are being judged individually, so entries are welcomed from schools, colleges, and individuals.
This Saturday, 30th April, an art workshop will be taking place at the centre to give visitors the opportunity to create an entry. The session will be open between 11am and 3pm, at The Baytree Shopping Centre, with all the materials provided to create the perfect masterpiece.
A spokesperson for The Baytree Shopping Centre said, “We are excited to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with our customers. The Art competition is a great way of getting children involved in the lead up to celebrations, whilst providing an opportunity to showcase local talent and of course, offering a highly valuable prize to the winning school and an amazing haul of goodies for one talented young artist!”
The closing date for the competition is 10th May 2022.
Entries can be handed in at the centre or posted to Jubilee Art Competition, The Baytree Shopping Centre, Management Suite, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 4BX.
Entries must be labelled on the reverse with the entrant’s name, school, and contact details.
The shortlisted entries and overall winner will be displayed at The Baytree Shopping Centre in a Jubilee Art Exhibition from Monday 23rd May until Monday 6th June.
