28 Jun Josh Burdett to film in US as lead in supernatural action movie
British actor Josh Burdett, who starred in the Hulu hit ‘Find Me In Paris’, is due to restart filming when the shot moves from Europe to US. ‘Angels Fallen 2: Warriors of Peace’ is shooting in Georgia and the production will continue in Los Angeles later this year. The plot centers around Josh’s character, Gabriel, as all around him the forces of heaven and hell do battle. Josh recently starred in the third and final season of the hit Hulu Original TV series, ‘Find Me In Paris’, which is being broadcast in over 130 countries worldwide. Josh plays Jack, the father of lead character Lena Grisky (played by Jessica Lord); his appearance is an exciting twist and a total surprise to Lena and explores the story arc of a father reconnecting with his daughter.
Another recent appearance was as Captain Rice in ‘Warhunt’ (2022), directed by Mauro Borrelli. Josh’s scenes are the catalyst for how this supernatural WWII story unfolds – the audience believes he has survived a terrible ordeal, only for something more sinister to unfold… The film also stars Mickey Rourke (‘The Wrestler’), Robert Knepper (‘Prison Break’) and Jackson Rathbone (the ‘Twilight’ saga, ‘The Last Airbender’). And in last year’s hit docudrama series ‘The Machines That Build America’, Josh played the pivotal role of Henry Ford; the show aired on the History Channel, reaching large audiences worldwide.
Josh is particularly proud of his role in the Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated animated film ‘Loving Vincent’, based on the life of Vincent Van Gogh. The film has enjoyed enormous worldwide success and critical acclaim, grossing more than $42,000,000 and winning numerous awards at film festivals. Burdett plays Zouave, a drunken French soldier whose scenes ignite the story. The film also stars Douglas Booth, Saoirse Ronan, Chris O’Dowd, Helen McCrory and Aidan Turner.
Josh enjoys working in both film and TV, and in 2020, he appeared in the remake of ‘Pan Tau’. The eponymous Pan Tau is a mysterious alien who comes to those in need and finds innovative ways to save the day with magic and mystery. Josh was cast as Bill Booker, providing great comedy as an overly worried businessman who can’t believe the chaos unfolding around him, while trying to save face with the company boss.
After this, he played the lead role of Max in comic film ‘Liars & Cheats’ (2021), directed by Jacob Migicovsky and produced by Fred Bonham Carter. The story plays out in real-time when movie star Max Peters (played by Josh) discovers that his social media accounts have been hacked and the perpetrator is releasing embarrassing content on all his platforms. The race is on, with the help of his larger-than-life agent and manager, to find out who is doing this and to stop them before Max’s reputation is ruined forever.
Josh provides the voices and motion capture performances for two integral roles in the much-anticipated new video game ‘Squadron 42’, from Cloud Imperium Games. He joins a cast that includes Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson and Rhona Mitra.
Also out soon is ‘The Phantom Warrior’, where Burdett stars as Lieutenant Pallas in a film directed by Savvas D. Michael. A supernatural thriller that plays heavily on Greek mythology, Pallas is a cop in a fictional southern US town, who becomes aware of a deeper purpose within himself as the real world gives way to a spiritual realm. The film also stars Steven Berkoff, Dean Cain and Adam Deacon, and is set for release later this year.
