05 Jan Intu Lakeside Raise Over £28,000 For Local Charity
At the start of 2016, intu Lakeside named Brainwave as its charity of the year and pledged to raise £25,000 for the organisation. Since then, intu Lakeside’s generous staff and customers have gone above and beyond this target, with the final figure standing at over £28,000. This generous donation has been used to sponsor seven local children, ensuring they receive important treatment and therapy to aid their development and changing their lives forever.
Staff at intu Lakeside took part in a variety of fundraising events, such as a triathlon, a Bake Off and an afternoon tea for the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Not only this, retailers at intu Lakeside kindly provided fantastic raffle prizes for intu Lakeside’s retailer awards whilst autographs from well-known celebrities were donated to Brainwave to auction off.
Additionally, visitors to intu Lakeside had the opportunity to donate in centre to help boost the final figure even further.
Based in Witham, Brainwave children’s charity helps children with disabilities to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of personalised educational and physical therapies.
