23 Jan intu Lakeside kicks off new year with new charity partner
intu Lakeside has kicked off the new year by partnering with Little Havens Hospice, a charity that provides respite and end of life care for children and young people across Essex that are aged between 0-19 years and have life-limiting conditions. The 18-month partnership will enable the popular retail and leisure destination to promote the children’s charity to millions of customers visiting the centre each year. Employees at intu Lakeside will fundraise and raise awareness by taking part in challenges and activities that the charity and the centre organises.
Howard Oldstein, regional centre director at intu Lakeside, said: “At intu, it’s important for us to keep our local communities thriving through strong community partnerships; together with Little Havens Hospice we can support those in need and shine a light on the life-limiting conditions affecting children and young people in Essex.”
Carmel Hudson, community fundraising manager at Little Havens Hospice, said: “Through our partnership with intu Lakeside, we’re able to raise awareness and reach millions of customers. We’re really looking forward to beginning an exciting new partnership and building a strong relationship with the centre team who have been a pleasure to work with.”
This year, intu Lakeside will open its doors to its £72 million retail and leisure development which will provide hundreds of new local jobs in the leisure and hospitality sector. The development will include a Nickelodeon theme park and a host of other leisure names including Hollywood Bowl, Flip Out and Puttshack.
