25 Oct intu Lakeside holds spook-tacular events for #Halloween
Children can take part in movie making, face painting and cloak making at intu Lakeside this half term
Shopping centre runs “big trick or treat” event for families on Halloween weekend
Hundreds of trick-or-treaters are expected to descend on intu Lakeside this Halloween as part of a series of free events being held to keep children entertained during the half term holidays.
intu’s mission to ‘make it fangastic’ for families this half term will begin with a week of Hallowen activities for children and end with a spook-tacular trick or treat event where children are invited to dress up and collect treats from any of the centre’s participating shops.
Children will be shown how to make something fangtastic, like a carved pumpkin or scary mask, at different workshops taking place every day of the week which ends with intu’s big trick or treat on Saturday 29 October and Halloween parades on Sunday 30 October.
The trick or treat event is being hosted by intu Lakeside in partnership with 23 of its top shops and restaurants who will all display window stickers in their windows to show they are taking part. Special buckets will be available for trick or treaters to collect from its customer service desk in return for a voluntary donation to intu Lakeside’s 2016 children’s charity, Brainwave.
Ben Leeson, Marketing Manager at intu Lakeside said: “Halloween shouldn’t be frightening for families but we know that it can be difficult to keep children entertained during half term. Many parents will also be looking to stay out of the cold and wet when it comes to trick or treating with their children.
“That’s why we’re looking forward to putting smiles on the faces of hundreds of mini witches and warlocks this half term with our fun-packed week of activities and intu Lakeside’s big trick or treat event.”
Catriona Macdonald, Store Manager at Hamleys commented: “The big trick or treat event at intu Lakeside is a fantastic idea for the community and is one that we are delighted to be taking part in allowing children to enjoy the Halloween themed fun safely.”
