22 Oct Inside the sixth annual Essex Teaching Awards
With just one month to go until the deadline, pupils, parents and school staff are encouraged to ensure their vote counts by making a nomination for the 2019 Essex Teaching Awards.
The annual awards – now in their sixth year – are run by Essex County Council and recognise the outstanding contribution made by teachers and school staff in the county’s schools.
This year’s awards will also help recognise individuals working in the Early Years sector, with the addition of two brand-new categories – ‘Early Years and Childcare Practitioner of the year’ and ‘Childminder of the year’.

New teacher of the year
Teaching assistant of the year
Primary school teacher of the year
Secondary school teacher of the year
Special school teacher of the year
Primary headteacher of the year
Secondary headteacher of the year
Governing body of the year
School team of the year
Childminder of the year
Early years and childcare practitioner of the year (in the PVI sector)
Lifetime achievement
Student choice
Nominations will close on Friday 16 November 2018 and the ceremony will take place in February 2019.
