31 May Inside the first ever Essex Police and Fire Cadet Challenge
Police and Fire cadets from across the county will put their skills together in an attempt to win the first ever Essex Police and Fire Cadet Challenge.
The games will see 16 teams, made up of cadets from both services, tackling a specially designed course at Basildon Sporting Village to win the coveted trophy.
Different zones will include a road traffic collision, a home safety scene and a rural crime zone and give the groups the opportunity to share their learning while working as one team.
The challenge has been created by the Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex as a way of demonstrating how both services’ cadets work together.
As well as the games, there will be safety demonstrations, information stalls and the chance to talk to community safety experts.
The event is open to everyone and free to attend, with the opening ceremony and heats taking place between 10am – 6pm on Saturday 9 June and the finals taking place between 10am – 3pm on Sunday 10 June.
